One of the key aspects of our family battling cancer has been our faith. We are dedicated faith filled Christians. We have found that through Jesus Christ we are able to have the strength to Cope with Cancer. Whether you are lucky and have a great support system of family and friends as I do, or there is an absence of these, you are never alone with God by your side.

We are not mad at God because God didnít cause my cancer to return. We do believe he is allowing it so that my husband and I can be used for his higher purpose. So if you, a friend, or family member is dealing with cancer and it is taking its toil on you, try changing your thinking. Instead of being angry or trying to figure out why you are being punished seek Godís wisdom and higher purpose for your struggle. Try turning your tragedy into triumph.

Remember you can control your Outlook, because God is control of your Outcome!

Being a Christian doesnít automatically make your Cancer go away, exempt you from pain and sickness, or exclude you from any of the other unpleasant things that go with this disease. What it does do is cause you to have hope, security, and peace that can come only from knowing God and trusting in him. This allows you to be in Control of your Outlook because you know he is in control of your Outcome. Thus, your life does not become defined by Cancer where it totally occupies you physically and emotionally. It allows you to treat Cancer as an uninvited guest so that you do not allow it to take up permanent residence in your soul.

As a faith filled family, there are a number of promises we have found in Godís word that comfort us and help us to understand more about what we are dealing with. We would like to share those with each of you at this site. The first one from Philippians is our anchor verse and lets us know that regardless of our circumstance we can be content because God gives us strength. We hope these verses inspire and provide hope regardless of what your circumstances are.

God's Word

I am not saying this because I am in need for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I   know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:11-15


Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:2-4


But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do so with gentleness and respect.

1 Peter 3:15


Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give your rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.

Matthew 11:28-30                                                                                                               

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Fatherís house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place I am going.

John 14:1-4


Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Romans 5:1-5


And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28


Be devoted to one another in brotherly love, Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Romans 12:10-12


Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.

2 Corinthians 1:3-7


But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness so that Christís power may rest on me. That is why, for Christís sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10


Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lords will is.
